Day 03 of the Giro New Road Photo Shoot by John Prolly on Flickr.
I am looking at getting myself a ContourHD camera and doing something similar to this, this uses software called Dashware to map the Garmin data channels onto the “digital dash”.. pretty cool IMHO.
The GCC Road Race Championship has now been done and dusted for another year. This year we raced at Meredith on the Mt Mercer - Old Schools Rd course, this is the first time our club champs have been run here and I was interested to see how they would go. I assumed that the race would end in a bunch sprint but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it didn’t.
My race wasn’t so bad, I felt good and strong for a good part of the race and was able to ride at the front of the race. I even slipped off the front of the race for a few kilometers hoping that someone may try to bridge across to me, no joy, the “tow the bunch up” mentality prevailed.

The race split a couple of times, firstly on the second lap the gutter action began into a strong cross wind and “pop” a number of of the B and C graders were dispatched. I burnt a match or two getting back into the echelon but all was good. Stupidly the drivers of the bunch sat up and allowed a number of riders to regain contact once again and effectively undoing most of the work that they put in to cause the split in the first place. Oh well, eventually that probably turned out to be helpful to me.
